July was a fun month for us. We went on
several long trail rides around our neighborhood and the surrounding area.
On one ride we saw 6 foxes and many deer.
The weather is very typical for mid summer in our part of Virginia, hot
and humid. We hosed the horses off when we returned and Maddie delighted
in the cool spray.
We did a lot of work at the barn, mowing and weedeating. Maddie enjoyed a
play time in our larger paddock while we were busy. She and her big
brother, Wings, had a grand time racing about and bucking.
Summer is time to get loads of hay in the loft. Mark did the trip to the
farmer's while I fed the horses and cleaned stalls.
I kept the horses inside until after the hay was unloaded and Maddie very
much enjoyed hanging out in her stall with the big fan blowing down the
aisle.
She definitely enjoys her comforts! |
