2004

We have gone from the wettest year in recorded history here in the Washington DC metro area, to a muddy, messy winter. We finally got a break over the New Year's Holiday weekend and Mark and I took Maddie and Wings out for a trail ride. The trail we picked (because it was not as muddy as the short one right at our back gate) took about an hour to navigate.
	Maddie has still not been schooled to trot or canter under saddle so we kept both of them to a walk. We went up and down some very steep hills, which Maddie negotiated very well. Mark said it felt like she was kicking into 4 wheel low gear! We also went through four small creeks and Maddie was very nonchalant about them. We are very proud of her!
