If there’s any group of people who know a thing or two about employing creative solutions to living in cramped quarters, it’s college students (see Essential Dorm Room Survival Hacks). So it’s no surprise that CB2 collaborated with students from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) to design space-saving furniture and accessories for small space inhabitants.
During SAIC’s year-long Industry Projects class, a dozen undergraduate and graduate design masterminds built a 250-square-foot micro-apartment out of cardboard and sheet foam, complete with a kitchen and bathroom, to inform their designs. Under CB2’s guidance, the class moved their space-saving ideas from conception to consumer.
The result is Design Collab No. 1, the 16-piece collection of stylish A+ achievements you see below. Pick them up in CB2 stores nationwide, or at CB2.com, and store just about anything. Including your jealousy from not having a class like Industry Projects back in the day.
