An Easy Route to a Clean Bathtub

An Easy Route to a Clean Bathtub Expand options

In your usual routine, you might not have had time for everything you wanted to do. You waited to run errands on the weekends or postponed events with friends because you got home late from work. Given the current scenario, of trying to stay in and work from home, you may have gained more time to do things.

Cleaning your home might be at the top of that list. It’s easy to wipe down counters after dinner, but more significant projects like tackling your bathtub might seem like a daunting task.

Read about these easy steps to clean a bathtub, so you don’t need to break out your cleaning supplies for at least a few weeks.

The first step to making your bathtub sparkle is to prepare your bathroom. Think about how potentially messy your cleaning will get. If you’re going to spray down your sink after you clean your tub, remove all toothbrushes and personal items. You can do the same with your shower supplies to keep them clean.

You might also want to consider washing your shower curtain and moving it so it hangs outside of the tub, making it easier to spot and tackle mildew.

You can simply soak the curtain in the tub filled with white vinegar, lukewarm water and some baking soda. A bonus is this will help prep your tub for a scrub too.

It’s also smart to open a window or turn on your bathroom vent so you don’t get overwhelmed by the smell of your cleaning solutions.

Make a plan

Next, make a game plan. Check your tub and assess how much there is to clean. Pink mold is a fungus that grows on damp surfaces and can root itself onto them. It’s not only gross, but it’s difficult to clean. The more mold you have, the longer you’ll want to let your cleaner soak to make scrubbing easier.

Collect the supplies

After you figure out how intense your cleaning will need to be, collect handy supplies like:

Once you have everything where you can easily reach it, it’s time to assess your cleaning solutions.

Pick your cleaners wisely

What you use to clean your bathroom could harm your health and the planet. It’s smart to avoid common chemical ingredients such as ammonia, bleach and hydrochloric acid. They aren’t environmentally friendly and can irritate your hands, respiratory system or other bodily parts.

Go green

Check for green cleaning products. They’ll do an equally great job of disinfecting surfaces without damaging your hands or lungs with harsh chemicals.

Don’t spend another minute being bored on your couch. Clean your bathtub using these easy steps so you can enjoy your next relaxing bath or shower. With the right game plan and cleaning products, scrubbing dirt and grime in your tub will feel like a breeze.
