A Cheat Sheet for Low-Maintenance Organizers

A Cheat Sheet for Low-Maintenance Organizers Expand options

It may surprise you to know that your personality plays a role in how you organize. Some of us prefer to keep an immaculate house, while others don’t mind a mess. In other words, we all have various methods to our madness.

For individuals who like to take a less involved approach, it isn’t easy to find effective organizational tactics. If you’re more of a low-maintenance type, take a look at these helpful tricks. Your house will look more put together before you know it.

Who Is a Low-Maintenance Organizer?

For the most part, low-maintenance organizers don’t prioritize how an object looks or feels in a space. Instead, they want items to function correctly without much attention to detail. These people don’t want to have to do a lot to maintain order. As a result, they toss all their kitchenware into the same cupboard and call it a day. They’re typically right-brain oriented and pay attention to the larger picture.

It’s important to remember that low-maintenance organizers aren’t always unkempt. In many cases, they’re quite clean. The difference lies in how much of an effort they put into a tidy home. They require cheap and manageable systems that don’t take much time to implement—for several reasons.

If you identify with some of these traits — we have just the right tips here for you.

Useful Projects for Low-Maintenance Organizers:

This organizational type does great with projects that make their lives easier but aren’t intensive. Luckily, there’s a lot you can do to transform your home in only a few steps.

+ Restructure Cabinets

Use tension rods to organize small objects in drawers and cabinets. Take one and place it across the width of the space, as you would in between a windowpane. Then, stack or hang items on the rod. This will allow you to free up a lot of room so you can fit more in one location.

+Mulch Your Yard

This tactic allows you to brighten up your yard quickly. Grab a bag of mulch and spread a 3-inch layer over each bed of plants. Mulch wards away weeds and invasive plants, so you don’t have to spend too much time on lawn maintenance. A bonus—it looks lovely.

+Install Cubbies

Do you need more storage? Pick up a few cubbies and use them throughout your home. They’re perfect for toys, clothes, books and electronics. Cubbies are incredibly easy to work with and make your own.

+Add Racks and Hangers

If you need to get those pans off your stove, use a rack. The same goes for a ton of other objects—from hair tools to baseball gear. Hang these items on your walls so you can see them easily. This method frees up space on countertops.

+Place Dividers in Drawers

This tip makes an organized home that much more achievable. Make sure they fit properly and use them to separate different items. A jumble of objects in one drawer is never efficient. These projects are extremely easy to tackle. A Pro-Tip: they’re cost-effective and beneficial for everyone in the home.

Create a More Organized Space

Those of us who don’t focus on organization often deal with overly cluttered spaces. To remedy that, try to implement these straightforward points. Low-maintenance organizers don’t have to live in chaos. Instead, they can create beautiful spaces that function alongside their needs.
