Once the site of an experimental utopian community known as Brook Farm, West Roxbury now comprises rows of single family homes, lined by deciduous trees. Millenium Park is one of the neighborhood's best known features, boasting more than 100 acres of trails, green spaces, and various ballparks.
Centre Street is West Roxbury's main thoroughfare, with various restaurants and retail options along the strip. During the summer seasons, there are a lot of local festivals and activities which are free to the public. The Parkway Little League Parade is one such example; the annual Corrib Classic draws more than 2000 runners every year.
